Senior Technical Architect (Healthcare)

About the role

B+H Architects is seeking a Senior Technical Architect to join our Healthcare team in Toronto Studio. As part of a group focused on the planning, design, and delivery of healthcare sector projects of a variety of sizes and through a mix of delivery models, your role will be to manage the construction administration and technical aspects of project packages. The ideal candidate is keen to be an active participant in mentorship and take part in the continual growth and development of themselves and team members. You will work with senior leaders within the firm to advance our practice and produce award-winning and successful projects.

Responsibilities

• Leads team in planning work and developing solutions to technical and design detail problems.
• Supervises preparation of technical drawings and lead construction administration.
• Develop details in accordance with design intent and construction drawings.
• Ensures that construction detail documentation conforms to QA/QC and B+H Best Practice standards.
• Mentors junior staff and delegate tasks as necessary.
• Fosters and maintains a collaborative professional working relationship with the Project Leadership Team.
• Assist with and/or managing contract administration services
• Education & Experience
• Minimum of 10 years of experience as an architect with technical background.
• Experience working on healthcare and projects is a bonus.
• Registered Architect with OAA is a bonus.
• Experience working on P3 project procurement model is beneficial.
• Experience work on large projects with multiple sub consultant team infrastructure projects.
• Demonstrated experience of strong leadership, team and project management skills, including the ability to prioritize work for yourself and others with the achievement of meeting deadlines, adhering to work schedule, fees, and providing a high level of project quality.
• Strong computer skills are mandatory, particularly with programs such as REVIT, and Microsoft suite.
