About the role

The Division of Trading and Markets is seeking a forward-thinking dynamic Data Scientist-Data Officer (Data and Records Information Officer) with strong skills in modern data platforms, advanced analysis technologies and information management to support data driven informed decision-making and innovation. BASIC REQUIREMENT: Degree: Mathematics, statistics, computer science, data science or field directly related to the position. The degree must be in a major field of study (at least at the baccalaureate level) that is appropriate for the position. or Combination of education and experience: Courses equivalent to a major field of study (30 semester hours) as shown in paragraph A above, plus additional education or appropriate experience. MINIMUM QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENT: In addition to meeting the basic requirement, applicants must also meet the minimum qualification requirement SK-16: Applicant must have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS/SK-14 level: Facilitating the implementation of multiple data-sharing mechanisms (i.e. data-sharing agreements, secure data-exchange workflows, and/or access-controlled repositories) using information-sharing theory, policies, procedures, and technologies; AND Developing and executing organizational data strategies that protect and optimize agency and industry data assets and ensure their secure, strategic, and mission-aligned use; AND Leading and advancing the integration of artificial intelligence to transform lifecycle management of data and records and ensure compliance with data governance standards, federal records requirement, and information management laws/regulations; AND Designing and maintaining large-scale interdependent data sets while ensuring data quality. Data Engineering - Performs analysis, builds data pipelines and models, and recommends solutions in line with Federal regulations, factoring in general and specific considerations for decisions and next steps. .
