Additional Responsibilities - Japan HR Compliance, Governance & Transformation 1) Ensure compliance with Japanese labor laws, regulations, health and safety requirements, and company policies by providing guidance to managers and employees, maintaining required HR documentation, and administering statutory processes, and supporting labor audits and reporting obligations. 2) Partner with internal stakeholders and external vendors to manage the full employee lifecycle, including hiring, onboarding, job changes, leave management, and offboarding, while providing guidance on employment practices, workplace policies, working time regulations, leave programs, and employee benefits to ensure compliance with local legislation and company policies. 3) Monitor employment-related risks and compliance matters in Japan, identify potential issues, recommend risk mitigation strategies, and execute appropriate corrective actions. 4) Handle employment-related matters and compliance risks in partnership with Legal, Employee Relations, Total Rewards, Payroll, external vendors, and advisors, and coordinate appropriate resolutions. 5) Partner with the HR Operations team and other key stakeholders to proactively learn and drive the adoption of AI and automation technologies, while leading continuous improvement and transformation of People Team processes and employee experience in Japan. What you'll bring to the team 1. 7+ years of experience in HR function. 2. Strong business acumen and commercial awareness, with a strong understanding of the key company goals and financial drivers that determine business success. 3. Highly skilled at engaging and influencing others, with strong change management skills and a desire to act as a change agent. 4. The ability to develop and implement clear, actionable plans in support of achieving the overall people strategy. 5. Capability to identify new ways for the People Experience team to support the business strategy and work collaboratively with other function leaders (i.e., Total Rewards) to create solutions. 6. Possess excellent client focus with the ability to build good relationships across borders. 7. Demonstrate excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively with multiple stakeholders across the organization at all levels. 8. Significant experience of working with and influencing leadership. 9. Deep knowledge of HR trends, leading HR practice and talent management practices. 10. Experience supporting HR compliance, employee relations, and labor risk management in Japan. 11. Experience working in a multinational and matrixed environment. 12.
