Finance Analyst

Responsibilities

• Act as the key financial resource for operational organization (region/department/business unit (and legal entity, overseeing all transactions recorded on financial statements are appropriately recorded
• Partner with operational leaders and provide analysis, insight, and recommendations/proposals on optimization of financial performance
• Participate in the annual budget and forecast process and audits
• Ensures that internal controls are applied as well as makes recommendations for process improvements
• Ad-hoc reporting and participation in departmental projects
• Prepare monthly, quarterly financial reports and variance analysis.
• Support the global accounting close process working closely with other functional Finance team members, and lead the local accounting close process for the operational organization
• Perform balance sheet and income statement, account analysis, and prepare related working papers.
• Proactively communicate with key business players on financial results
• Preparation of year end work papers to support annual audits, and tax filings, as well as support local statutory reporting and filing requirements
• Overseeing and reviewing legal entity trial balance to ensure all transactions appropriately reflected
• Facilitate the identification/development and delivery of best practices
• Work closely with finance team to develop best practices
• Evaluate processes from a quality perspective
• Communicate and present best practices to senior management
• Perform end to end local regulatory tax reporting and submissions
• Administrative work to manage local tax as required by the local government unit for the company
• Champion company core values and other company programs to engage and motivate our employees

• Education
• University Degree, preferably in Finance or Accounting

Requirements

• Minimum 2 year industry experience in financial analysis or reporting is required
• Strong understanding of fundamental accounting concepts
• Previous experience in the collection industry would be an asset
• Experience with ERP systems (Workday is preferred)
• Experience in the BPO, multicurrency consolidation and trust accounting would be an asset
• Certificates, Licenses, & Registration:
• Employees in these jobs must possess, or be working towards, one or more of the following certifications: Certified General Accountant (CGA), Certified Management Accountant (CMA), Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Chartered Accountant (CA)
