Department/Unit: Anatomy Work Shift: Day (United States of America) Salary Range: $50,639.00 - $75,959.00 Searching for a NYS Licensed Funeral Director to support the mission of AMC's Anatomical Gift Program. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Perform anatomical embalming of donors for long-term educational study and surgical workshops. Maintain the cleanliness of the dissection laboratory and bioskills center, including removing medical waste. Ensure adequate PPE and dissection instruments are available for all dissection laboratory activities and bioskills center sessions. Be present at the start of all dissection and bioskills sessions to ensure faculty, students, and other participants have all relevant equipment as outlined by the faculty or coordinator of the Anatomical Gift Program. Assist with the day-to-day administrative activities in the Anatomical Gift Program office, including but not limited to: processing donor registrations, intake processes once donors have become deceased, answer the phones and be prepared to assist donor families, prospective donors, hospital staff, and social workers throughout the donation life cycle. Assist with the coordination of inter-institutional donor transfers with partner funeral homes and academic institutions, including ensuring donors are properly prepared for transport and have all required transfer documents. Transport donors from the Anatomical Gift Program morgue to the laboratories and vice-versa. Manage inventory and supplies and communicate with the coordinator of the Anatomical Gift Program, as needed, to replenish supplies. Maintain the donors in the dissection lab by checking on them daily and ensuring that they are adequately covered, moist, and lack mold.
