About the role

Our Operations team is currently looking to add an Environmental Monitor , based in Dawson Creek, BC. Reporting to the Site Supervisor, we are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Environmental Monitor with a strong background in pipeline or linear infrastructure construction to ensure all construction activities meet environmental regulatory requirements and project commitments. This position plays a key role in environmental compliance, stewardship, and protection of sensitive features across active project sites. Please Note: This position is a field-based role working a 14 days on / 7 days off schedule. Duties and Responsibilities Conduct daily environmental inspections during pipeline construction activities, ensuring compliance with Environmental Protection Plans (EPPs), federal and provincial regulations, and permit and approval conditions Identify and protect sensitive environmental features including watercourses, wetlands, wildlife habitat, and species-at-risk areas Monitor and oversee mitigation measures including erosion and sediment control, watercourse crossing practices, and spill prevention and response Prepare detailed daily inspection reports including photos and GPS data; communicate deficiencies and corrective actions to construction teams Support regulatory inspections, environmental audits, and incident response and reporting Collaborate with construction crews, Indigenous Monitors, and regulatory representatives on site Post-Secondary education in Environmental Science, Biology, Natural Resources, or a related field 2 years of environmental monitoring experience on pipeline or linear infrastructure projects Working knowledge of environmental regulations in BC and/or Alberta Strong communication and reporting skills Valid driver's license and ability to travel to remote locations Preferred Skills / Qualifications ESC (Erosion & Sediment Control) certification H2S Alive; First Aid / CPR; WHMIS Bear Awareness / Wildlife Safety Training We offer a comprehensive and competitive total rewards package that includes a complete range of employee benefits to ensure you have the tools necessary to manage, maintain, and improve your health and wellbeing.
