Job Title Reliability Electrician III Position Overview Shaw Industries is currently hiring a Reliability Electrician III for the first shift at our facility in Chickamauga, GA . The Reliability Electrician III maintains, troubleshoots, and improves electrical systems and production equipment to ensure optimal performance, reliability, and cost efficiency across assigned manufacturing areas. This role provides advanced electrical support, develops detailed job plans, and mentors lower‑level electricians to improve overall plant performance and technical capability. Position Expectations The Reliability Electrician III is expected to perform assigned duties with a strong focus on: Safe work practices following all OSHA, NEC, NFPA 70E, and facility safety requirements. High-quality, precise workmanship delivered with a customer-service mindset supporting "Great Products & Service." Adherence to established standards and best practices gained through training and experience. Continued growth in advanced maintenance and equipment knowledge, understanding the impact on production and business outcomes. Clear communication and constructive feedback regarding work needs, troubleshooting findings, and improvement opportunities. Position Duties & Tasks 1. Maintain Electrical & Control Systems Provide advanced maintenance on process and support equipment including: MCCs, motors, inverters, Converters, Reactors, and power distribution components PLCs, robotics, drives, and associated automation systems 2. Troubleshoot & Execute Repairs Identify, diagnose, and repair complex issues impacting safety, quality, or productivity: Distinguish between mechanical, electrical, process, and product-related issues Provide detailed findings and root-cause information to operations and maintenance leadership Recommend and verify necessary updates to electrical schematics and documentation 3. Perform Proactive Maintenance Lead and execute PM and CM activities: Preventive Maintenance: Perform inspections, measurements, and adjustments according to specifications and schedules. Condition Maintenance: Repair/replace components based on PM or PdM results. Develop detailed job plans and request updates to schematics as required. 4. Support Projects & Process Improvements Execute assigned work orders to support: Reliability improvements Production and quality enhancements Equipment installation and upgrades Tasks include installation or replacement of: Motors Drives Line Reactors Filters Induction Chokes Starters Control systems PLC hardware Facility electrical systems 5. Mentor & Support Electrical Team Coach and support Reliability Electrician II employees as they develop required skills Assist Reliability Electrician IV-V team members with advanced installations and upgrades Continue developing personal expertise in preparation for higher-level roles Critical Knowledge & Skills Safety LOTO, Confined Space, PPE, Hot Work Arc Flash Safety & Prevention PIT operation Fall protection Hoisting & rigging Tools & Applications DMMs, megohmmeters, tachometers Loop Calibrators/ Simulators Network cable testing tools CMMS systems for work orders and parts Ability to select appropriate tools for the job Technical Knowledge Ability to read, interpret, and mark up electrical and mechanical schematics Understanding of NEC requirements Basic knowledge of e-stop systems and safety components Troubleshooting of components such as: PLCs AC/DC drives Relay logic Single-loop controllers Pneumatics & hydraulics Circuit & Component Knowledge Ability to size wire and components for single- and three-phase circuits Strong understanding of PLC operation and control system fundamentals Math Skills Arithmetic Electrical formulas (current, voltage, power, etc.) Unit conversions Ohm's/ Lenz's Law Competencies Work Standards Solve Problems Build Customer Satisfaction Collaborate Lead
