About the role

To deliver high-quality Mathematics teaching to pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, enabling them to achieve positive academic, personal and emotional outcomes. The postholder will create a safe, engaging and supportive learning environment, using adaptive teaching, strong behaviour management and trauma-informed approaches to support pupils with a range of additional needs and barriers to learning. This role is for a Secondary Maths teacher based within a South Liverpool secondary special school for boys with Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs. Experience/Qualifications needed: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS). Experience teaching Mathematics at secondary level. Strong classroom and behaviour management skills. Understanding of SEMH needs, trauma-informed practice and restorative approaches. Ability to build positive relationships with vulnerable pupils. Strong communication and teamwork skills. Resilience, adaptability and emotional intelligence.
