WHAT YOU WILL EXPERIENCE IN THIS POSITION: This Engineering professional is considered a domain expert in the functional areas of mechanical engineering, systems and processes addressing Data Solutions Enclosure market needs in close collaboration with Product Management strategies. Defining system architecture to support segment-wide growth and scalability, demonstrating the ability to lead technical work autonomously. Balancing feasibility with business priorities, while advising leadership on technical direction and ensuring clear communication and documentation across teams and functions. Planning and conducting work requiring judgment in the evaluation, selection, and adaptation or modification of standard techniques, procedures, workflow, and criteria. Working and/or leading multi-functional project teams to develop and define requirements for new Enclosure products. Providing project/technical leadership to other engineers for the development of new products and customization of existing products in alignment with product architecture strategy. Participating in multi-functional teams to help improve quality, production or field issues. Working to continuously improve processes, improve teamwork, reduce risk, and reduce product development cycle time. Developing, mentoring and applying specific technological expertise to specific projects, i.e. component selection analysis, standards, manufacturing processes. Defining testing protocols and supervising completion of internal testing, external certifications, and mentoring junior engineers. Independently performing assignments with instructions as to the general results expected. YOU HAVE: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field required. Master's degree preferred. 10+ years of relevant engineering experience required. Proven experience in design and failure analysis tools such as DFMEA, DFM, etc. Strong proven knowledge in manufacturing methods, Sheet metal required. Ability to design components and assemblies using 3D CAD system SolidWorks. Strong logic and reasoning to identify the technical strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems. Demonstrated analytical knowledge in understanding test and performance data. Uses product knowledge constantly to make decisions that result in improved customer satisfaction, product functionality and overall design. Self-directed capabilities in leading multiple tasks/projects and teams in a fast paced, multifaceted environment. Ability to interpret and analyze professional journals, technical procedures or governmental regulations; analyze mathematical concepts and apply these to practical situations. Global design experience with capacity to influence and collaborate with other engineering locations such as Reynosa, Mexico. Up to 10% international travel required. Spanish fluency is a plus.
