Responsibilities
- Prepare, dispense, compound , label, and repackage medications for inpatient, outpatient, and clinic settings.
- Process medication orders and maintain accurate records for controlled substances in compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Manage medication inventory, including restocking supplies, monitoring expiration dates, and maintaining proper storage conditions.
- Utilize pharmacy automation technology to support dispensing and compounding functions.
- Collaborate with pharmacists and clinical teams to ensure safe, accurate, and timely medication delivery.
- Perform clerical, billing, customer service, and other pharmacy support functions as assigned.
Requirements
- High school plus specialized, short-term training in the areas of pharmacy law, practices standards, terminology, pharmacy math, drug preparation, dosage forms and trade/generic names.
- Pharmacy Technician National Certification through exam or transfer required.
- Active New Mexico Board of Pharmacy.
- Pharmacy technician license required.
- At least one year experience in pharmacy or completion of an accredited pharmacy technician training program.
