This position is part of the To qualify for the position, you must meet the following requirements: Applicants must have experience and/or training of sufficient scope and quality to independently perform the duties typically required of a Bindery Machine Operator Leader. These duties require skill in Applicants must meet the following Screen-Out element, Job Element # 73: Ability to Lead or Supervise to be considered for this position. Your qualifications will first be evaluated against the prescribed screen out element, which usually appears as question 1 in the online questionnaire. If your knowledge and ability in the SCREEN OUT ELEMENT below is not sufficient, you will receive no further consideration. The screen-out element for this position is: Operate and set up powered bindery equipment used to produce printed materials such as books, manuals, catalogs, or similar products; and ability to perform machine set up or adjustments using tools and follow written production instructions. In addition to the SCREENOUT requirements per GPO 615.2C Federal Merit Promotion Plan (FMPP), Appendix B GPO employees must have completed the following: A. completed a formal, recognized apprenticeship or GPO journeyperson training program, or possess substantially equivalent practical experience in the trade of the vacant position. B. at least 1 year of journeyperson experience subsequent to completion of the above apprenticeship or training. -AND- C. served a minimum of 1 year in a career or career-conditional appointment in the GPO. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. All qualification requirements must be met by the closing date of this announcement to be considered.
