Job Description - Preschool Cook Job Title Preschool Cook Reports To Principal / Centre Manager Main Purpose of the Job To prepare healthy meals and snacks for children, keep the kitchen clean and safe, and follow food hygiene rules. Duties and Responsibilities Cooking Prepare breakfast, lunch, and tea for children. Follow the menu provided by the centre. Prepare food according to children's age and dietary needs. Serve meals on time. Kitchen Cleaning Keep the kitchen clean and tidy at all times. Wash cooking utensils, dishes, and kitchen equipment after use. Clean kitchen tables, sinks, refrigerators, and other work areas daily. Throw away food waste and rubbish properly. Food Safety Follow food hygiene and safety rules. Wash hands and keep the kitchen clean before and during food preparation. Store food properly. Check expiry dates before using food. Inform the Principal if any food has expired or is running low. Stock Keep track of food and kitchen supplies. Tell the Principal when supplies need to be ordered. Receive and put away food deliveries. Teamwork Work well with teachers and other staff. Follow instructions from the Principal. Help during school events if food preparation is needed.
