About the position: This is a RFT (full-time) position located at the Fitness and Sports Center at the Fort Eustis location. The position is guaranteed 35 hours per week. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if the position allows for qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Qualifying Experience: Ability to lead 2 or more staff to accomplish assignments. Must be able to plan, coordinate, and budget sequence steps needed to meet time constraints of work assignments. Applicant must have experience and working familiarity with the routines and procedures followed in group activities or programs; and practical knowledge and/or experience of recreational activities and equipment, to include rules and procedures in a recreation program activity. A group exercise certification or personal training certification is required. Must obtain certification in Adult COR/First Aid and AED within 30 days of appointment and maintain as current thereafter. Must be physically able to frequently lift and carry objects weighing 100 pounds or more. Must be able to continuously stand, bend, stoop, and reach for long periods of time. Must satisfactorily complete pre-employment physical. Must be able to satisfactorily complete a National Agency Check with Inquiries (NACI). Position requires current state driver's license.
