Job Description Summary Job Description Roles and Responsibilities: Read and interpret assembly and machine detail part blueprints, specifications, GD&T, and other quality documents pertaining to the manufacture of products produced or purchased. Use inspection instruments including CMM's (MCOSMOS software), optical comparators, micrometers, gauge blocks, calipers, and indicators to measure precision machined aircraft components. Perform necessary mathematical calculations as required with minimum amount of training. Conduct diversity of inspections which may include first article inspections, receiving inspection, final inspection of machined parts and final assemblies, first piece inspections, and in-process sampling. Assist machinists with checking dimensions that cannot be measured at the machine. Check parts for conformity to processes and specifications. Follow standardized procedures with allowable variations defined. Devise ordinary gaging/measuring setups. Generate detailed non-conformance records for non-conforming machined parts or assemblies.
