About the Position: This position serves as Engineering Equipment Operator for DPTMS at Range Control. Minimum Qualifications (Screen Out Element): Ability to do the work of a(n) Engineering Equipment Operator ~ without more than normal supervision. I am able to perform the common duties of an Engineering Equipment Operator including operating a variety of heavy equipment to push, pull, pile, or load materials such as sand, gravel, earth, or refuse; digging trenches, clearing brush, tree stumps, and rocks; and grading surfaces on generally flat, rolling or simple terrain. - Failure to meet this Screen out Element will result in an ineligible rating. PHYSICAL EFFORTS: The work requires heavy physical effort, good hand, eye, foot coordination, good depth perception; and mental alertness in the operation of various types of equipment, controls, and attachements. The employee must be able to exert physical effort for prolonged periods of time such as standing, walking, reaching, bending, turning and sitting, working in awkward positions and considerable strains to the body while accomplishing work in rough terrain flat, uneven surfaces and other field surfaces. WORKING CONDITIONS: Work is performed in all types of weather, often in and open driver's seat or platform, on steep hills, slopes, grades, rolling surfaces, and forests. The operator is exposed to injury due to the possibility of the equipment overturning. Incumbent is subject to noise, vibration, dust, dirt, and fumes from the motor and exhaust. Must wear and/or use protective equipment in accordance with established health and safety regulations and SOPs.
