The Cornell University Hospital for Animals (CUHA) is seeking a Pharmacy Technician to join our dedicated pharmacy team. In this role, you will support the safe, accurate, and efficient preparation and dispensing of medications for a diverse veterinary patient population while delivering exceptional service to clinicians, staff, students, and clients. Working under the supervision of licensed pharmacists, you will assist with prescription fulfillment, inventory management, medication safety, and pharmacy operations that directly contribute to outstanding patient care. The job responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Preparing and dispensing medications for inpatient and outpatient veterinary patients under pharmacist supervision. Supporting clients and clinical teams with prescription requests, medication questions, and pharmacy services. Managing medication inventory by stocking supplies, maintaining automated dispensing systems, and monitoring reorder needs. Maintaining pharmacy compliance and safety through accurate documentation, proper medication handling, and adherence to regulatory requirements. Required Qualifications High School Diploma and up to 2 years of pharmacy technician experience equivalent combination of education and experience Pharmacy Technician Certification preferred; certification required within 6 months of hire. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple priorities and maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail. Ability to work independently and collaboratively, demonstrating initiative and sound judgment. Strong communication, customer service, and organizational skills. Ability to safely handle hazardous medications and comply with all required safety protocols. Ability to meet the physical demands of the position including but not limited to lifting up to 50 pounds and standing for multiple hours a day Important Details about the Position This is an onsite position located in Ithaca, NY. The anticipated schedule for this position is 7:00am - 6:00pm with alternating shifts, rotating Saturday coverage, and rotating holiday responsibilities. We are unable to provide Visa sponsorship, now or in the future, for this position. While the regular business hours are 8:00 am to 6:00 pm on the weekdays and 8:00am - 12:00pm on Saturday, the specific schedule may change to meet the needs of the business, requiring employees to work early mornings, evenings, weekends and University holidays and scheduled breaks.
