Requirements

*ONLY OPEN TO CURRENT FULL-TIME ANNUALLY PAID PARKS EMPLOYEES* Major Responsibilities - Under general direction and reporting to the Chief of Staff for the Assistant Commissioner for Public Programs, with latitude for independent initiative and judgment, perform difficult administrative duties for the Public Programs division. - Work closely with the Assistant Commissioner for Public Programs, Chief of Education & Wildlife, Chief of Programming and Strategic Management for Recreation, Unit Directors, Borough Recreation Chiefs, Ocean Breeze Park Administrator, and division staff of all levels to assist in managing the strategic approach to program delivery. - Coordinate meetings, prepare meeting agendas and take meeting minutes/perform follow-ups with meeting attendees. - Research and write memoranda, reports, policy briefings, press releases, correspondence, and other documents with support from Public Programs leadership. - Provide support in managing communication, and data and information reporting processes within the division. Maintain, organize, and collect information. - Track and research community statistics and programming partners relevant to program development and implementation, including populations served historical data, related programs and landscape for grant opportunities. - Provide support for professional development, training opportunities and performance incentive strategies for division staff. - Manage, track, and review marketing and branding requests for Public Programs; liaise with Marketing to ensure compliance across the division. - Work closely with other divisions within the Agency on a variety of functions and on the management of specific strategic initiatives. - Maintain accurate records, prepare reports, perform filing and coordinate records retention. - Manage office duties and special projects as needed. - Provide excellent customer service by answering phones, directing inquires and receiving visitors and deliveries.
