KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Operations & Production - Oversee and coordinate all post-harvest activities, including harvest intake, drying, curing, trimming, and final packaging. - Set and communicate daily and weekly production targets for dry room and packaging operations. - Monitor and document environmental conditions (temperature, humidity, airflow) in drying and curing environments. - Ensure all finished products are accurately weighed, labeled, and sealed in compliance with DCC retail packaging requirements. - Coordinate harvest handoffs from the Cultivation team, verifying batch integrity and METRC tag accuracy at intake. - Manage vault transfers and ensure product readiness for distribution in coordination with the compliance team. Team Leadership & Supervision - Directly supervise Dry Room Leads, Dry Room Technicians, and Packaging Specialists across post-harvest operations. - Conduct onboarding, role-specific training, and ongoing performance coaching for all direct reports. - Create and manage weekly staffing schedules to align with production volume and regulatory deadlines. - Facilitate shift handoffs, daily production meetings, and cross-departmental coordination as needed. - Address performance concerns through documentation and coordination with HR in accordance with company policy. METRC & Compliance - Ensure accurate and timely METRC entries for all post-harvest activities including package creation, waste logging, and manifest generation. - Maintain departmental compliance with Ohio Administrative Code 1301:18, DCC licensing conditions, and King City Gardens' SOPs. - Prepare records and documentation for state regulatory inspections and internal compliance audits. - Verify all DCC-required batch numbers, warning labels, and compliance statements on finished product packaging. - Identify and immediately report any compliance discrepancies to the Compliance Manager. Quality Control & Sanitation - Conduct and document quality inspections at each stage of the post-harvest process to ensure product integrity. - Enforce strict sanitation, PPE, and biosecurity protocols throughout all post-harvest areas. - Investigate and resolve quality deviations; implement corrective actions and preventive measures. - Maintain calibration logs for scales and other measurement equipment used in the packaging process. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS - Must be 21 years of age or older. - Eligible to obtain and maintain Ohio DCC cannabis employee credentials prior to start date. - Minimum 2 years of supervisory or lead experience in a cannabis, pharmaceutical, food production, or other regulated manufacturing environment. - Demonstrated proficiency with METRC seed-to-sale tracking or equivalent cannabis compliance software. - Strong working knowledge of Ohio DCC regulations and Ohio Administrative Code 1301:18. - Ability to pass all required background checks per Ohio cannabis licensing requirements. - High school diploma or equivalent required. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS - Associate's degree or vocational certification in agriculture, horticulture, food science, or a related field. - Prior experience managing post-harvest or dry room operations in a licensed cannabis cultivation facility. - Experience with cannabis packaging compliance including DCC weight, labeling, and seal requirements. - Familiarity with ActionPac, automated packaging, or other production line equipment. - Bilingual communication skills (English/Spanish) a plus. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS - Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and move throughout the facility for extended periods (8-10 hours). - Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds regularly. - Ability to work in controlled environments with variable temperature, humidity, and exposure to cannabis plant material, dust, and odors. - Use of PPE including gloves, masks, hairnets, and lab coats required at all times in production areas. - Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as operational needs require.
