REQUIRED EXPERIENCE: Minimum of 18 months experience working in group programs with children/youth as well as demonstrated knowledge in theories and principals of child/youth development. Experience must demonstrate the ability to lead junior staff in the accomplishment of work. REQUIRED EDUCATION: Bachelors degree or advanced degree in youth development, elementary or secondary education, family and consumer science (human development emphasis), special education, or other fields appropriate to the position. Must be able to lift and carry children and objects up to 45lbs independently and over 45lbs with assistance.OR A combination of education and experience (e.g. courses equivalent to a major in a field (24 higher level semester hours) appropriate to the position (see above) plus appropriate experience or additional course work that that provided knowledge comparable to that normally acquired through the successful completion of the 4-year course of study described above. Must be able to obtain and maintain TIER-1 Child Care (CNACI) background checks which are required for positions that involve working with children under 18 years of age. Must pass a pre-employment physical and annual physical, thereafter, provide evidence of immunization and be free from communicable disease. Must complete all DoW training requirements within the specified time including orientation, initial, DoW Standardized Module Training, and annual ongoing training requirements, and required certifications, if any. Must maintain current food handlers, CPR and First Aid certifications. May be required to obtain a government drivers license. Ability to communicate effectively in English, both orally and in writing, and possess strong interpersonal communication skills. Must have the ability to use Microsoft Office Suite. Note: This position is identified as a Test Designated Position (TDP). The incumbent is subject to random drug testing because duties must be performed with a high level of productivity, reliability and judgment to prevent adversely affecting personnel safety, and causing risk/damage to government property, and/or significant adverse impact to day-to-day operations. A positive drug test, or failure to submit for testing, may become the basis for removal from this position. "Marijuana is a Schedule I drug under the Controlled Substances Act and therefore use of marijuana is illegal under Federal law regardless of State laws. A positive drug test result for marijuana (or any other drug tested for) will result in withdrawal of the tentative job offer and could make you ineligible to apply for a position within the Department of Defense for up to 3 Years from the date of the drug test."
