About the role

Our client (international MNC) is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Contracts Manager to oversee the full spectrum of contract administration for large-scale civil and construction projects, including potentially mixed-use, industrial and/or commercial developments. The successful candidate will play a key role in managing contractual and commercial matters throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring compliance, mitigating risks, and safeguarding the company's commercial interests.

Responsibilities

  • Manage all pre- and post-contract administration activities for construction projects.
  • Review, negotiate, interpret and administer contracts, subcontracts, consultancy agreements, and othercontractual documents.
  • Ensure compliance with contractual obligations, project specifications, and applicable regulations.
  • Prepare, evaluate and manage tender documentation, contract variations, extension of time (EOT) claims, and cost claims.
  • Identify, assess and mitigate contractual and commercial risks throughout project execution.
  • Lead negotiations and resolve contractual disputes with clients, consultants, subcontractors and suppliers.
  • Work closely with Project Managers, Quantity Surveyors, Procurement and Legal teams to ensure contractual compliance and commercial success.
  • Monitor project costs, contractual milestones and payment processes to maximise project profitability.
  • Provide contractual advice and guidance to project teams on contract interpretation and risk management.
  • Maintain accurate records of contractual correspondence, claims and project documentation.
  • Support senior management with commercial reporting, contract strategies and project performance reviews.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree - Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Law, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum of 7 years of relevant experience in contract management within the civil engineering or construction industry.
  • Proven experience managing contracts for large-scale infrastructure, mixed-use, commercial or building construction projects in Singapore.
  • Strong knowledge of standard forms of construction contracts (e.g. PSSCOC, SIA, FIDIC or equivalent).
  • Good understanding of Singapore construction regulations and industry practices.
  • Excellent negotiation, analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and work effectively under pressure.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications; familiarity with contract management software is an advantage.
