About the Position: The incumbent serves as a Strategy and Policy Analyst in HQ USAFRICOM - J4 Logistics Support . Provides strategic posture planning across forces, footprints, agreements, crisis response, air operations, security cooperation, and theater logistics. Coordinates extensively with Components, AFRICOM staff, Joint Staff, OSD, and other commands to optimize posture supporting mission objectives. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 level which includes: 1) interpreting and translating national or strategic guidance to direct operational planning; 2) developing theater-level plans, orders, or campaign assessments; AND 3) coordinating military posture requirements (e.g., forces, footprints, agreements, or access locations). You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Communications Partnering Planning and Evaluating Strategic Thinking Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-12).
