About the Position: Sierra Army Depot is located in Herlong CA, a rural town in Northern California. Herlong is approximately 60 miles north of Reno, NV, and 35 miles south of Susanville, CA. The depot serves as an Army Expeditionary Logistical Support Center. Employees work Mon-Thurs, 0630-1700 hrs. Youth Facilities and childcare available. Mass transportation is available at minimal cost. Surrounding area boasts a full range of outdoor sports/recreation activities. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes 1)Advising leadership on strategic human capital management to ensure effective manpower planning for a large-scale civilian workforce; 2) Strategizing with senior officials concerning organizational structures to optimize resource utilization and command objectives; 3) Developing strategic manpower initiatives through the Command's Human Capital Plan to integrate talent management and staffing approaches; and 4) Planning work assignments for subordinate employees to ensure the completion of short-term command goals. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12). Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Human Capital Management Managing Human Resources Manpower & Personnel Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-12).
