Phlebotomist (Bank) The Chiltern Hospital Bank Shifts Salary: £12.71 per hour The Chiltern Hospital in Great Missenden is part of Circle Health Group , Britain's leading provider of independent healthcare with a nationwide network of hospitals & clinics, performing more complex surgery than any other private healthcare provider in the country. We have an opportunity for a Phlebotomist to join their team of staff in the Pathology department. This is a bank role working on an "as and when required" basis, you will be required to supplement staffing levels during busy periods and provide cover for existing staff in times of annual leave or absence. Duties of this role include: Perform venepuncture procedures safely and accurately in accordance with clinical protocols. Provide reassurance and support to patients, using a calm and professional approach to reduce anxiety or discomfort. Label all specimens clearly and accurately, ensuring correct patient details and test requirements. Adhere strictly to infection prevention and control procedures, including PPE use and safe disposal of sharps and clinical waste. Communicate clearly and professionally with patients, colleagues, and laboratory staff. Maintain accurate and timely records of samples taken and appointments completed. Maintain your own competencies in phlebotomy practice and complete all mandatory training. Applicants should meet the following criteria: Experience in Phlebotomy in a healthcare or clinical setting. Good communication and interpersonal skills. Attention to detail and ability to follow strict protocols. Understanding of infection prevention, patient identification procedures, and specimen handling. Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
