**This position is contingent upon contract award** SOSi is seeking a Data Governance & Metadata Scientist to support mission requirements for a structured approach to further develop, integrate, and sustain a scalable, federated data ecosystem that enhances interoperability, governance, and mission-driven analytics for a DoD customer. The primary objective of the program is to bridge the operational gaps between DoD, IC, interagency, and non-traditional international partners to enable real-time information sharing, dynamic data integration, and mission-tailored analytical capabilities. Essential Job Duties: The contractor shall establish and maintain metadata governance frameworks, ensuring compliance with DoD data management policies and interoperability with Data Catalog. The contractor shall develop automated metadata tagging processes to improve data discoverability, classification, and lineage tracking within the Common Intelligence Picture (CIP) platform. The contractor shall implement and manage data governance workflows, ensuring integration with OpenLineage, Unity Catalog, and GIS metadata standards. The contractor shall submit the Metadata & Data Governance Compliance Report, detailing lineage tracking, classification policies, and security enhancements. Minimum Requirements Knowledge and capability to develop, implement, and maintain data governance frameworks, ensuring metadata consistency, lineage tracking, and interoperability between Data Lake, ESRI Kubernetes environments, and external data sources. Personnel must be proficient in metadata management, data lineage tracking (Unity Catalog/OpenLineage), schema alignment, and governance best practices. Expertise in geospatial data standards, data cataloging, and compliance with DoD metadata policies is required. The contractor shall provide personnel with a Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Information Management, GIS, or a related field, or; five (5) years of equivalent experience in data governance, metadata management, or geospatial data integration. Demonstrated experience in: Implementing metadata governance frameworks for structured and unstructured data in cloud-based environments. Tracking data lineage and ensuring metadata synchronization across a Data Catalog, ESRI Kubernetes, and enterprise metadata repositories. Utilizing OpenLineage, Apache Atlas, or similar tools for metadata and data lineage management. Enforcing compliance with DoD metadata policies and NSG tradecraft standards for geospatial datasets
