About the role
ProArch is looking for a skilled and proactive Jira Administrator to manage, configure, and optimize our Atlassian Jira environment. Key Responsibilities System Administration & Configuration - Administer Jira Software, Jira Service Management, and Confluence instances (Data Center). - Create and maintain projects, issue types, workflows, screens, fields, permission schemes, and notification schemes. - Configure and manage boards (Scrum and Kanban) to support agile delivery teams. - Manage user accounts, groups, roles, and access permissions across Jira projects. - Perform regular system health checks, audits, and licence management. Workflow Design & Optimization - Collaborate with teams to understand business processes and translate them into effective Jira workflows. - Design, test, and implement custom workflows, automation rules, and post-functions. - Continuously review and optimize configurations to improve team efficiency and data integrity. Integrations & Automation - Set up and manage integrations between Jira and other tools such as Confluence, Slack, GitHub, Bitbucket, and CI/CD pipelines. - Build and maintain automation rules using Jira Automation and third-party add-ons (e.g., Script Runner, Automation for Jira). - Work with REST APIs for custom integrations and data extraction were required. Jira Lifecycle Management - Own and manage the end-to-end lifecycle of the Jira platform from initial setup, configuration, and onboarding through to ongoing maintenance, version upgrades, and eventual decommissioning or migration. - Define and enforce Jira governance standards, including project naming conventions, issue type taxonomies, workflow versioning, and field usage policies to ensure consistency across the instance. - Manage project and issue archival processes, ensuring inactive or completed projects are properly archived, closed, or cleaned up to maintain system performance and data hygiene. - Plan and lead Jira instance migrations (Data Center), including data integrity validation, user migration, and post-migration support. - Conduct regular lifecycle reviews assessing licence utilization, active users, project health, and workflow effectiveness and present findings and recommendations to the PMO. - Maintain a lifecycle roadmap for the Jira environment, aligning platform evolution with organizational growth, agile maturity, and technology strategy. Essential - 3-6 years of hands-on experience as a Jira Administrator in a professional environment. - Proficiency in configuring Jira Software and/or Jira Service Management (Data Center). - Strong understanding of agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban, SAFe). - Experience with Jira Automation and workflow design. - Solid knowledge of JQL for building filters, reports, and dashboards. - Experience managing user permissions, groups, and project roles. - Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail. - Strong communication skills with the ability to translate technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders.
