As a Lecturer, you will strengthen our capability through world-leading teaching, cutting-edge research, and impactful industry collaboration. The Role In this permanent role, you will contribute fully as a teacher, researcher, and leader, fulfilling the requirements of the University's Academic Career Pathway Framework. You will be responsible for designing and delivering high-quality, research-led learning materials for undergraduate and postgraduate students, while establishing an independent, collaborative research programme. Your daily activities will include: Conducting high-quality personal research and securing varied sources of funding. Disseminating research findings through high-quality, peer-reviewed publications and conferences. Attracting and providing effective supervision to PhD students and research staff. Delivering engaging lectures, preparing student assessments, and providing timely feedback. Acting as a personal tutor to provide vital pastoral support. Participating in external academic and industrial networks to foster regional and national collaboration. Who We Are Looking For You will hold a PhD (or be near completion) in a relevant area related to Aerospace Engineering, alongside a strong record of publishing high-quality research in peer-reviewed journals. We are particularly interested in hearing from candidates with expertise in: Propulsion and launch systems, with a particular interest in rocketry. Space systems engineering (including resilient in-orbit technologies). We also welcome applications from candidates working in complementary areas where there is a clear fit with the School's strategic priorities. The ideal candidate will be an excellent communicator, a supportive team player, and possess the leadership skills required to work effectively in a multidisciplinary environment. Experience in preparing grant applications and working in industry are highly desirable.
