JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY: The Case Services Specialist performs a variety of job duties for the Division of Children, Youth and Families (CYF). The job responsibilities may include preparations for adoptions, completion of initial and annual eligibility determinations for all client entitlements, gather and decipher information from documents, systems, court orders, contacts, etc. to make an eligibility determination ; determine funding based on placement relation and certification; maintain and adhere to strict deadlines and documentation for cases that are often audited and reviewed , manage Medicaid spans for CYFAP clients and troubleshoot Medicaid issues as needed; fingerprinting, facilitating agency and client travel needs; report distribution; performs in-depth research to ensure authenticity of information for background checks, birth certification requests, and other requests as needed; Interacts with all levels of state and county staff, medical and legal professionals, child advocate specialists, clients, and citizens. Provides training, technical assistance and backup coverage for the unit. Please note this is not a caseworker position. SCHEDULE: This position typically operates on a 5-day work week (Monday-Friday 8am-4:30pm ) or 4-day work week in-office (Monday-Thursday, 8am- 6:30 pm) Personal Choice Work Model: After six months of employment, all employees can work with their supervisor to develop a personal choice work model and schedule that works best for them and ensures all role expectations are met . This means an employee may choose to work from the office more or from home more, with some general expectations such as in-person tasks required by role.

Hiring Range: 2 2 . 49 - 26.20 USD HourlyCompensation will be determined based on education, experience and skills.ESSENTIAL DUTIES:Research and verify case information across state and county databases, electronic case management systems, and public records to support accurate eligibility and claimability decisions and maintain thorough, audit-ready documentation.Open, maintain , and close Medicaid spans for children in foster care; identify and resolve coverage gaps or discrepancies; and coordinate corrections with relevant systems and liaisons to ensure uninterrupted access to services.Communicate with the State, CBMS liaisons, county attorneys, Social Security, caseworkers, foster families, and child support specialists , that specifically pertain to claim reimbursement of foster care expenditures for children who are removed from home and placed within foster care.Serves as a liaison to the public and agency personnel to provide fingerprint processing and registration.
