Responsibilities

  • The board design engineer functions as the project engineer that:

  • Bachelor's or Master's d egree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering or equivalent
  • 5+ years of related experience with PCB design and development
  • Experience performing high speed PCB designs
  • Experience designing and laying out DC/DC regulator circuits
  • Experience performing board bring-up, using oscilloscopes, digital multi-meters and soldering tools
  • Working knowledge of Cadence-Allegro System Capture and PCB Editor software tools
  • Experience with simulation tools such as:
  • Cadence Sigrity PowerDC and OptimizePI
  • LTSPICE/PSPICE
  • Familiarity with common bus protocols such as DDR4, PCIe, UART, I2C, SPI and USB
  • Office tools: MS-Office(Excel, Word, Visio), Google (Sheets, Docs)

Requirements

  • Experience using Python, C, TCL, VHDL, Verilog, Github
  • Microcontroller programming
  • High current DC/DC design and layout
  • Test Equipment: TDR and VNA
  • Experience using and following checklists
  • Experience performing board layout, PCB Stack up design, is a plus

  • The annual base salary range for this position is $91,000 - $146,000
  • This position is also eligible for a discretionary annual bonus in accordance with relevant plan documents, and equity in accordance with equity plan documents and equity award agreements.

Job Description: The Board Hardware Engineer functions as the project lead engineer that works with the board architect on future designs, the product manager for customer requested features, mechanical engineering on thermal solutions, physical layout engineers as well as the SI engineers to ensure the solution meets requested parameters, validation team to make sure the design meets the design parameters, and customer support when specific issues need to be addressed. The engineer also will create the schematic and functional specification and interface with the firmware team when bringing up a design.
