Responsibilities
- Responsibilities include:
- Patient Monitoring: Continuously assess and monitor patients' vital signs, symptoms, and overall condition.
- Medication Administration: Deliver medications and treatments as prescribed, including IV therapy and sedation.
- Emergency Response: Act swiftly in life-saving situations such as cardiac arrest, respiratory failure, or shock.
- Diagnostic Support: Assist with and interpret diagnostic tests like blood work, imaging, and EKGs.
- Medical Equipment Operation: Manage ventilators, infusion pumps, and other critical care devices.
- Documentation: Maintain detailed and accurate patient records, including treatment plans and progress notes.
- Collaboration: Work closely with physicians, respiratory therapists, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate care.
- Family Support: Provide emotional support and education to patients' families about conditions and treatments.
- Infection Control: Follow strict protocols to prevent the spread of infection in the ICU environment.
Requirements
- Associate Degree in Nursing
- State of New Mexico or Compact State Nursing License
- BLS certification REQUIRED at time of hire
- 1 year of Telemetry and RN experience highly Preferred
