Business Development cum Underwriting - Agency (General Insurance - Team Lead) - Insurance Sector Lead business development and underwriting activities within General Insurance, driving premium growth and portfolio expansion. Provide team leadership through coaching and performance management to achieve business objectives and deliver quality service. Job Responsibilities: Business Development & Account Management: - Develop and grow new business opportunities across General Insurance product lines. - Drive premium growth and support the achievement of business targets. - Build and maintain strong relationships with agents, brokers, intermediaries, and corporate clients. - Manage and retain existing accounts while identifying opportunities for portfolio expansion. - Monitor market trends and competitor activities to identify potential business opportunities. - Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders including Underwriting, Claims, and Operations teams to deliver quality customer service. Underwriting & Portfolio Management: - Assess and underwrite commercial and industrial risks within delegated underwriting authority. - Review quotations, renewals, policy terms, conditions, and pricing to ensure competitiveness and profitability. - Provide recommendations for risks outside delegated authority levels. - Support risk surveys and risk assessment activities when required. - Ensure compliance with underwriting guidelines, risk management standards, and regulatory requirements. Team Leadership: * Provide guidance, coaching, and support to team members to achieve individual and team objectives. * Monitor performance and promote service excellence within the team. * Coordinate work allocation and ensure timely completion of assigned tasks. * Foster a positive and collaborative working environment that encourages continuous learning and development.
