About the role
You will serve as a HUMAN RESOURCES SPECIALIST (CLASSIFICATION) NCIS. All Naval Criminal Investigative Service (NCIS) positions are in the excepted service. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Conducting formal position management studies which involve reviewing organization and position structures. Advising managers and supervisors regarding succession planning, reorganizations, realignments, reviews, as well as the establishment of new positions. Classifies all levels of positions in accordance with the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Position Classification Standards, by conducting position analyses. Writing clear and concise position evaluation reports to support and justify classification determinations. Provides advice and assistance regarding the procedural requirements of position classification appeals, requests for evaluation decisions, and similar actions. Recognizes the need for and drafts appropriate standard operating procedures (SOPs), widely disseminated fact sheets, and/or educational (briefings/training) opportunities. Interprets and analyzes personnel management guidance, particularly classification guidance, to ensure management is in compliance. GS-12: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.
