JOB CONTEXT Manufacturing engineering department is one of four departments in Operations department of Damen Song Cam shipyard and is under supervision of Operations manager. Manufacturing engineering department consists of following core areas: Design for Manufacturing Technology development Manufacturing engineering department ensures availability of information for both supply chain operations and production execution. PURPOSE AND SCOPE OF THE JOB This role is responsible for enriching and transforming 3D ship design models from Dassault 3DEXPERIENCE into Manufacturing Bill of Materials, creating routings and manufacturing logic, and ensuring seamless data transfer to MES and ERP. The ideal candidate will bridge design and production, optimizing manufacturability, accuracy, and efficiency throughout the production lifecycle. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES/ ACTIVITIES Product Industrialization Define the initial and ideal production strategy per ship type. Set up modular Bill of Materials structures and routings in 3DX. Capture manufacturing logic in reusable templates to enable fast and consistent product deployment. Process Design & Standardization Standardize and continuously improve manufacturing processes for quality, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness. Support "anonymous production" initiatives by decoupling planning from engineering timelines. Digital Backbone & Data Modeling Use 3DX to manage the digital thread from design to production. Structure manufacturing data models in line with MBOM and process planning methodologies. Collaborate on the implementation of future capabilities such as digital twins and model-based execution. Change Management & Engineering Integration Incorporate engineering changes into the manufacturing models Work alongside designers to influence manufacturability during the early design phase. Provide manufacturing feedback to ensure practical, production-ready designs. Continuous Improvement & Lean Enablement Collaborate with design, planning, and production teams to validate manufacturability and resolve technical issues. Identify inefficiencies and improve build strategies based on lessons learned and production KPIs. Contribute to process improvement programs targeting rework, waiting time, and planning stability. Support transformation toward a data-driven, highly synchronized industrial flow. Integration between 3DX, ERP and MES Ensure the complete and correct transfer of manufacturing data to: MES for shopfloor execution and scheduling and ERP for materials management, procurement, and production planning REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS Education Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Naval Architecture, or related field. Good written and verbal English Knowledge of Lean tools, Six Sigma, or Material Requirements Planning concepts
