Learn more about this authority at: Direct Hire Authority This Management & Program Analyst (Fire Business) position serves as a regional Fire Business Analyst with the United States Wildland Fire Service (USWFS) in Nashville, Tennessee, providing budget, business, and fire management expertise EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS: (OPM Operating Manual, Qualification Standards for Administrative and Management Positions for GS-0343 Series). GS-11: 1 year of specialized work experience equivalent to the GS-9 grade level in the Federal service (obtained either in the private or public sectors) performing the following: (1) Analyzing and evaluating the effectiveness and efficiency of program operations and/or administrative support functions to recommend improvement solutions to work unit level issues; (2) Developing new or modified work methods; (3) Analyzing local policies and programs to determine the impact of changes on programs or work operations; (4) Reviewing and analyzing data to determine program effectiveness in attaining goals and/or to develop program measurement criteria; and (5) Gathering data to provide feedback, prepare reports, and/or to present briefings; OR a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree; OR 3 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree; OR LL.M., in a field related to this position. Physical Demands: The office work is primarily sedentary. Work outside of the office requires travel to various locations throughout the United States, under a variety of climatic conditions and elevations. Working Conditions: Much of the work is performed in an office setting, but also involves outdoor environments with exposure to a variety of climatic conditions and elevations. Fire management work involves an exposure to smoke and intense heat. Incumbent will adhere to all safety rules and regulations, as prescribed in manuals/supplements, or by the designated Safety Officer. All qualification requirements must be met by the closing date of this announcement.
