About the role

As a Data Engineer, you will work closely with clients, data architects, analysts, and engineers to design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines and platforms. Key Responsibilities Build, develop, and maintain ETL/ELT data pipelines and data workflows Apply DataOps and software engineering best practices to deliver robust data solutions Work with stakeholders to understand and define data requirements Collaborate with architects, analysts, and wider engineering teams Design and support data models, orchestration, and data integration processes Deploy and maintain data solutions within cloud environments Ensure data quality, security, and governance standards are met Troubleshoot and resolve data engineering issues across systems and platforms Work effectively within cross-functional delivery teams Continuously develop skills across evolving data engineering tools and technologies Skills & Experience Required Strong experience in SQL and Python (or similar programming languages) Solid understanding of data engineering principles, ETL/ELT pipelines, and data workflows Experience with data modelling, data governance, and data quality practices Exposure to cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP Familiarity with orchestration tools and modern data engineering frameworks Understanding of DevOps/DataOps principles Strong communication skills and ability to engage with both technical and non-technical stakeholders Ability to work independently within structured delivery frameworks Desirable Experience Experience working in secure, regulated, or complex enterprise environments Exposure to large-scale data platforms or transformation programmes Knowledge of tools such as Spark, Databricks, Airflow, or similar Experience in consulting or client-facing delivery environments Security Requirements Must be a sole UK citizen Must be eligible for Security Clearance (SC) Must have lived in the UK continuously for the last 5 years
