AIML - Sr Software Engineer in Test, Evaluation

About the role

As the Quality-Focused Engineering Owner for our online experimentation platform, you will define and drive the quality vision for a system that powers experimentation across the customer experience. Partnering with engineers, product teams, and senior leaders, you will ensure the platform meets the highest standards of reliability, scalability, and quality while delivering critical business initiatives. You will own the quality roadmap, establish organization-wide quality practices, and build the automation and frameworks needed to scale testing effectively. Combining strategic leadership with hands-on execution, you will help enable experimentation on some of Apple's most critical customer-facing experiences.

Responsibilities

• Implement processes and frameworks for the continuous quality improvement of platform, fostering excellence and reliability.
• Work closely with feature owners, data scientists, server and device engineers, leaders, and other stakeholders to gather requirements and deliver impactful evaluation solutions.
• Ensure backend services are scalable, efficient, and secure, handling large volumes of data with ease.
• Ensure device code is secure, robust, efficient, with a focus on quality.
• Continuously seek ways to enhance evaluation systems, adopting best practices and integrating the latest advancements in technology.

Requirements

• Highly organized, self-motivated, and passionate about achieving results.
• Experience driving crisp communication across a team and organization.
• Experience building test automation, CI/CD, and a culture of quality.
• Experience working with Objective-C, Swift, and other Apple technologies.
• Experience working with resource constrained devices.
• Experience working full stack, from frontend to server and database.
• 4+ years of proven experience in Software Quality Assurance.
• Cross-functional leadership, working with engineers, leaders, and project managers.
• Hands-on experience testing devices, daemons, or command-line tools.
• BA/BS in Computer Science or equivalent professional experience.
