Responsibilities
- Promptly responds to referring healthcare facilities seeking to admit psychiatric patients to the Precourt Healing Center to ensure requests and referrals are being reviewed and assessed in a timely manner.
- Verifies insurance benefits and obtains pre-authorizations for inpatient services when appropriate per the defined workflow.
- Works closely with the hospital's Utilization Review/Utilization Management, admissions, insurance verification, and financial advisor teams to maintain positive relationships and an efficient process to maximize patient care and business operations.
- Ensures all admissions paperwork is completed, signed, and electronically documented and that paperwork is accurate and finalized in a timely manner. Establishes files, maintains information, and scans medical records in a timely and organized manner.
- Performs de-escalation techniques with patients, family members and others per the provided training and ensures training remains up to date. Attends and provides feedback for departmental staff meetings. Helps to train and educate new staff.
- Provides support to all onsite departments as needed. Works in various patient settings and locations in and around the Edwards Community Health Campus including supporting outpatient behavioral health services as needed, and at times from a remote location.

- Must be HIPAA compliant at all times and demonstrate a proficient understanding of the sensitivity of our patient's experience. Must adhere to hospital policies, regulations, and legal requirements.

Requirements
- 3-5 years of experience in behavioral health, clinical healthcare, hospital, or similar, required.
- 2+ years of supervisory experience, preferred.
- Knowledge of community resources, preferred.
- Bilingual Spanish, preferred.
