About the role

Provide evidence-based nursing care within a specialised 14-bed acute inpatient alcohol and drug withdrawal management unit, supporting clients with severe substance use disorders through stabilisation and treatment over 5-7 day admissions. Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate person-centred care, including the safe management of withdrawal symptoms, ongoing clinical monitoring, and psychosocial support. Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality care, contribute to treatment planning, and support positive recovery outcomes. Coordinate care across the patient journey, including discharge planning, referrals to community services, and engagement with families and support networks where appropriate. Demonstrate clinical leadership and professional accountability while contributing to the wider St Vincent's Alcohol and Drug Service, with opportunities to develop skills through the clinical rotation programme across all areas of ADS. About you Currently registered as a Registered Nurse (Division 1) with the Australian Health Professionals Regulation Agency Demonstrated ability to work within the interdisciplinary team using effective communication and interpersonal skills. Demonstrated evidence of integration of theoretical knowledge and clinical skills, critical thinking and analysis in your daily practice Demonstrated effective time management skills and ability to prioritise competing workloads within a complex environment Why work at St Vincent's?
