Responsibilities
- The following are typical responsibilities for a Senior Layout Designer:
- Most of the time will be spent creating and releasing 3D models and drawings of complex engine parts or assemblies, within the Creo and Windchill environments.

- Develop and maintain standardised design procedures for parts, assemblies, and layout modelling.
- Support team delivery by delegating, prioritising, and organising tasks where required.
- Provide mentoring and guidance to CAD users across varying levels of experience.
Requirements
- HND or BEng in Mechanical Engineering, or similar discipline.
- At least 7 years' experience in design/drafting roles.
- Direct design experience with engine or transmission components and systems; experience within powersports engines and powertrains is advantageous.
- Working knowledge of GD&T in accordance with ANSI/ASME Y14.5 (2009 or later).
- Demonstrated experience in one or more of the following areas: High-feature, complex aluminium castings (including die casting, sand casting, permanent mould casting), forging, and machined components.
- High-feature, complex forged and machined components (e.g. crankshafts).
- Complex assemblies and tolerance stack-up analysis.
- Proven track record of working extensively with PTC Creo or similar Parametric CAD tools (including modelling and drafting), and Windchill or comparable PLM systems.
- Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving capability.
- Effective team player with the ability to work cross-functionally and communicate clearly with system engineers and project teams to deliver model-year-based engine programs.
- Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present and engage effectively with global teams.
