About the role
We are seeking experienced and motivated Field Service Fitters to join our team, supporting our mining customers across the region and helping to maximise equipment reliability and performance. These are permanent field service positions , with multiple 7 on, 7 off roster options available. As a Field Service Fitter at Hastings Deering, you will: Perform maintenance, repairs and component replacements on Caterpillar equipment. Diagnose and resolve mechanical, hydraulic and electrical faults. Ensure repairs are completed efficiently and to Caterpillar standards. Assess components for reusability and provide recommendations for repair or replacement. Complete service reports, timecards, parts requests and customer documentation accurately. Build strong customer relationships through professional service and technical support. Promote genuine CAT parts and identify opportunities to support customer operations. About You A successful teammate will have: Trade qualifications - Certificate III in Mobile Plant Technology, Heavy Commercial Vehicle Mechanical Technology or equivalent diesel fitter trade. Caterpillar product knowledge - experience working on CAT machinery, systems and diagnostic tooling. Strong troubleshooting skills - ability to diagnose mechanical, electrical and hydraulic faults independently. Customer-focused mindset - confident in building relationships, managing expectations and providing clear updates. Safety-first approach - committed to maintaining high WHS standards at all times.
