Responsibilities

  • Operate ultrasound equipment utilizing a variety of possible techniques to include Upper/lower extremity venous dopplers, upper/lower venous mapping for access, access flow evaluation, upper/lower arterial duplexes, carotid duplex/flow evaluation for endarterectomy, arterial pressure testing/ABI's;

  • Education Qualifications
  • High School Diploma Required and
  • Certificate from Ultrasonography Program, Vascular Credential (RVT/RVS) Required
  • Experience Qualifications
  • Prior Vascular sonography experience Required
  • Minimum of two years on the job training with demonstrated competency Required

A Brief Overview The Vascular Technologist Independently performs professional level vascular ultrasound assessments and a variety of non-invasive studies using ultrasound and related diagnostic equipment. Records and documents study results and preliminary clinical impressions as indicated. Performs various vascular testing to include: carotid, venous, and arterial vascular ultrasound studies. Knowledge of peripheral vascular anatomy, physiology, and pathology is required. Provides excellent patient care while demonstrating exemplary core customer service skills. Completes accurate documentation of patient medical records. Assigned home facility but covers and floats to Tidelands Health sites as necessary. Serves on-call rotation and responds within 60 minutes to facility to meet patient service needs. Completes other duties as assigned.
