Associate, Financial Communications Weber Shandwick is seeking an Associate to join its Financial Communications team, which is part of the Weber Advisory group. As part of Weber Advisory, our work goes beyond traditional communications. We help clients anticipate risk, shape narratives, engage stakeholders and build the trust that drives enterprise value. We combine strategic communications, cultural intelligence, issues expertise, digital influence and AI-enabled insights to provide C-Suite and board-level leaders with strategic counsel across four key pillars: Strategy & Reputation, Public Affairs & Impact, Crisis & Issues, and Transactions & Transformations. Within Weber Advisory, the Financial Communications teams advises public and private companies across industries on strategic and capital markets communications efforts that protect reputation, support valuation and optimally position them among relevant stakeholders. Our engagements span both the normal-course financial lifecycle (e.g., quarterly earnings, proxy statements) as well as transformative events (e.g., mergers and acquisitions (M&A)/post-merger integration, initial public offerings (IPO), litigation, bankruptcy, activism, executive management transitions, cybersecurity events, labor issues, etc.). We collaborate closely in these engagements with both the C-suite and key investor relations (IR)/public relations (PR) personnel, as well as an organization's external counsel and financial advisor(s). As an Associate, you will have the unique opportunity to help drive communications around high-stakes financial transactions, earnings, and corporate milestones. You will support day-to-day account activity, transaction work (IPOs, M&A, investments, etc.), financial media relations, and Investor Relations (IR) activities. Working directly with senior leadership, you will conduct essential research, develop materials, and actively support new business opportunities to help grow the practice. Any prior experience or background in financial communications or IR is a strong plus, but not required.
Responsibilities
- Financial Communications & Client Work
- Financial & IR Support : Support a range of financial communications and special situations, including M&A, IPOs, shareholder activism, and bankruptcies, as well as ongoing IR activities (quarterly earnings, roadshows, and investor days, etc.).
- AI Integration : Effectively and appropriately leverage AI-driven tools and platforms to enhance landscape research, analyze financial and industry data, and optimize content development workflows.
- Content Development : Support the drafting of press releases, media strategies, reactive media statements, talking points, FAQs, memos, and other key financial deliverables.
- Research & Landscape Intelligence : Conduct pressing research on corporate and financial issues. Review and prepare executive summaries that distill complex financial data into concise insights for internal teams and clients.
- Account Management: Keep client programs on schedule, prepare for client meetings, accurately capture action items, and ensure all deadlines are met within set budget parameters.
- New Business Support : Actively support the group's new business pipeline by conducting landscape research, assisting in the development of pitch materials, and collaborating on cross-selling efforts across the agency.
- Thought Leadership : Assist in the creation of materials that help position Weber Advisory as a leader in capital markets and financial communications.

Requirements
- Experience : Up to two years of relevant professional experience in financial communications, investor relations, and/or a related agency/corporate setting.
- IR/Media Skills: Direct experience or a strong interest in Investor Relations (IR) is a plus. Must
