The Department of Archaeology is delighted to invite applications for a part-time Administrative Assistant to join its friendly, close‑knit team supporting administrative and financial processes and communications activities. About the role This varied and rewarding part-time role places you at the centre of a dynamic teaching department, where you'll play a key part in keeping the administrative function running smoothly and efficiently. Working closely with the Department Administrator, you will provide broad administrative support across the team, including: onboarding and offboarding support building inductions maintaining office systems/ procedures contributing to continuous improvement of administrative processes As Administration Assistant you will take responsibility for a range of financial administrative tasks, including: monitoring budgets and processing invoices/orders liaising with finance colleagues ensuring timely payments. The role also supports key annual activities at busy times: issuing appointment letters for safety roles updating essential departmental documentation academic year preparations, student access systems helping to deliver Departmental events, (catering, accommodation, etc) In addition, you will work with the Outreach and Communications Co-ordinator: supporting internal and external communications maintaining website/intranet content supporting with file storage and access, assisting with AV and IT setup for events and activities. supporting copy writing producing news stories content for the departmental website and social media. This is an excellent part-time opportunity for someone who enjoys variety, takes pride in organisation, and wants to make a meaningful contribution to a collaborative and fast-paced environment. This role would suit a secondment from within the University.
