The Rothenberg Laboratory is focused on elucidating the mechanisms of allergic responses. The goal of the research is to identify novel pharmaceutical targets for the treatment of patients with diseases such as food allergies, asthma, and eosinophilic gastrointestinal disorders. The laboratory has identified, and molecularly and biologically characterized critical pathways that regulate allergic responses including allergen recognition, leukocyte trafficking, barrier function, and the role of allergic inflammatory cells (including eosinophils, mast cells and CD4+ effector memory Type 2 T cells) in homeostasis and disease. A dynamic group of multidisciplinary scientists collaboratively advance science using a variety of approaches including biochemistry, molecular biology, informatics, genomics, genetics, and immunology involving in-vitro, ex-vivo and in-vivo systems. The research is conducted in parallel with the clinical research arm of the Rothenberg Laboratory, providing optimal translational opportunities. Candidates should have a solid background in scientific rigor, and a burning desire to advance their careers. High-impact publications and collaborative research are prioritized. MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Design, execute, and record laboratory experiments, and analyze the data. Research and improve current methods and evaluate innovative techniques. Implement this knowledge in the Division/Department. Present research at laboratory meetings, journal clubs, seminars, and meetings. Draft, write, and edit scientific reports, papers, journal articles, abstracts, and grants. Maintain currency in field through continuing education, literature, and seminars. Attend required Cincinnati Children's training sessions and ensure regulatory compliance with all policies and procedures. Perform other duties as assigned.
