About the role

With a commitment to patient and family centered care, the Administrative Supervisor serves as the hospital operational oversight leader across all shifts in ways that value the uniqueness of each individual and addresses the physiological, emotional, and social needs of the diversity of patients served by Jefferson Health. The Administrative Supervisor is responsible for facilitating patient movement, staffing, emergency management (both medical and facilities), clinical coordination and collaboration across all departments. The Administrative Supervisor plans for, leads, and coordinates the provision of quality care and service from a hospital wide perspective. In the off shifts, the Administrative Supervisor also functions as the liaison for departments that do not have onsite leadership during non-business hours. In collaboration with administrative directors and managers, the Administrative Supervisor provides leadership, consultation and collaboration in a dynamic, multidisciplinary environment. Job Duties Interacts with co-workers, visitors, and other staff consistent with the values of Jefferson; displays a positive, professional image to patients, visitors, co-workers, and the community; and practices within established Jefferson Health policies and procedures. Provides safe, compassionate, and coordinated patient-centered care by recognizing patients and their family/designated care partner(s) and respecting individual preferences, priorities, needs, and cultural beliefs and values. Communicates effectively with and supports the interprofessional team, patients, families, and designated care partners; serves as a liaison for external callers by providing directions and resources; and expresses information clearly and appropriately in individual and group settings. Provides leadership and operational direction across departments, units, and interdepartmental functions, including coordinating patient movement and patient flow throughout the health system to the appropriate level of care in collaboration with unit leadership. Supports department leadership in achieving compliance with professional, regulatory, hospital, and departmental standards by promoting clinical excellence, safe patient care delivery, patient and family satisfaction, and a sustained patient-centric culture. Partners with Nursing Leadership to strengthen colleague commitment and engagement through initiatives that support nursing and professional staff, recognizing the link between colleague experience, patient experience, and clinical excellence. Collaborates with staffing and resource management teams to ensure optimal workforce deployment; reviews staffing decisions on an ongoing basis; and oversees schedule balancing, vacation requests, holiday coverage, last-minute staffing changes, and payroll reconciliation activities. Serves as a clinical and operational resource for policies and procedures, patient care standards, performance improvement, and risk management, while facilitating the goals and objectives of the Department of Nursing and the Hospital. Leads and supports education and professional development for the administrative nursing leadership team by ensuring timely completion of mandatory education, maintenance of licenses and certifications, identification of ongoing development opportunities, and communication of operational and time-sensitive updates. Provides leadership for workforce safety and environment-of-care initiatives in partnership with security and administrative leaders, integrates and coordinates Administrative Nursing Supervisors across all three campuses, and promotes a culture of inclusion, respect, diversity, and staff appreciation.
