The listed pay range or pay rate reflects compensation for a full-time equivalent (1.0 FTE) position. Actual compensation may differ depending on assigned hours and position status (e.g., part-time). Pay Range: $20.50 - $26.64 Scheduled Weekly Hours: 40 Position Overview Provides estimates and out of pocket financial responsibility to uninsured and self-pay patients. As determined, provides contact information to patients for financial assistance. Answers patients and families questions regarding their insurance and responds to any questions related to out of pocket amounts due. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS Education: High school diploma or equivalent. Experience: One year of previous work experience in a medical office or hospital setting. Experience in customer service role preferred. Other Credentials: Knowledge and Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Strong organizational skills. Knowledge of medical terminology and diagnostic (ICD-10), procedural (CPT) coding and other related medical terminology. Special Training: Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite including database software. Familiarity with multiple internet search engines. Mental, Behavioral and Emotional Abilities: Usual Work Day: 8 Hours Reporting Relationships Does this position formally supervise employees? No If set to YES, then this position has the authority (delegated) to hire, terminate, discipline, promote or effectively recommend such to manager. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Manages calls and emails from website for pricing requests. Determines contracted rate for services using patient's insurance information and doctor's orders. Runs patients' benefits information through Capital Health's eligibility tool to determine out of pocket amounts. Communicates estimate of patients' out of pocket amounts verbally and sends a completed Good Faith Estimate (GFE) to the patient via email or mail. Acts as a liaison between Credit and Collection and the Medicaid/Charity Care vendor to assist patients with signing up for financial assistance. Works with Central Scheduling and the clinics to ensure that all patients receive a Good Faith Estimate (GFE). Performs other duties for the department as needed and assigned.
