About the role

About the Role DOOR3 is looking for a Senior Power BI Consultant to take ownership of dashboard and report development for an active client engagement. You'll step into an existing Power BI implementation and be responsible for maintaining it, improving it, and keeping it reliable - owning data modeling, DAX, troubleshooting, and client-facing reporting support end to end. This is a focused, hands-on Power BI role. It is not a general data engineering position. We're looking for someone who is deeply strong in Power BI modeling, DAX, SQL, dashboard troubleshooting, and stakeholder communication, and who is comfortable working directly with clients in a consulting environment. Prior experience inheriting an existing Power BI implementation and stabilizing or improving it is a significant advantage. What You'll Do Maintain, enhance, and troubleshoot Power BI reports and dashboards. Build and optimize Power BI data models, relationships, measures, and visuals. Write and maintain DAX measures and Power Query transformations. Validate report outputs against source data and business requirements. Investigate and resolve report performance, refresh, data accuracy, and usability issues. Work directly with internal project stakeholders and client users to clarify reporting needs and explain dashboard behavior. Document key metrics, report logic, assumptions, and known limitations. Required Skills & Experience Senior-level Power BI consultant / developer. 5+ years total experience in BI, reporting, analytics, or data visualization. 3+ years hands-on Power BI experience, including Power BI Desktop and Power BI Service. 3+ years DAX experience, including measures, calculated columns, filtering logic, and performance-aware calculations. 2+ years SQL experience, preferably with SQL Server or Azure SQL. Strong understanding of BI data modeling concepts, including relationships, measures, KPIs, and report-level filtering. Experience troubleshooting Power BI refresh failures, data discrepancies, model issues, and report performance. Desirable Skills & Experience Experience inheriting and improving existing Power BI reports. Experience with Power BI workspace management, permissions, deployment, and dataset refresh configuration. Familiarity with row-level security and report access controls. Experience working with operational, legal, case management, HR, or nonprofit reporting. Ability to review SQL-based reporting data and understand how backend data affects dashboard outputs. Who You Are A strong communicator who works comfortably with both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Detail-oriented, especially around data validation and metric definitions. A proactive problem solver who can investigate issues independently. At ease in a client-facing consulting environment. Able to explain reporting concepts and data issues in plain language. Confident in written and verbal English. Engagement Details Hours: part-time contract, 8-10 hours per week Duration: Approximately 3 months Location: remote - candidates based in Europe strongly preferred Language: professional English required (B2 or above across all 4 skills) Originally posted on Himalayas
