Responsibilities
- Lead accurate and timely end-to-end delivery of monthly, quarterly and annual financial accounting and reporting, including chart of account maintenance across different systems.

- Develop and maintain strong relationships with Finance peers (Tax, Performance and Management Reporting, Corporate Finance, Valuations, Investment Operations) as well as with connected stakeholders across OMERS
- Coordinate and liaise with internal and external auditors for fieldwork, as well as accounting, reporting and internal control matters
- Use appropriate judgment in dealing with issues and requests, demonstrating the ability to effectively prioritize work, balance resource requirements and determine solutions

- Strong knowledge of IFRS, fair value measurement and regulatory reporting relevant to pension funds

Reporting to the Vice President, Investment Accounting, the Director, Investment Accounting will play a critical leadership, controllership and reporting role, and inspiring a team responsible for high quality and timely execution of monthly accounting and general ledger close, semi-annual financial reporting to Corporate Finance and legal entity management and reporting to key stakeholders. With responsibilities for accounting and reporting of certain OMERS investment business units, this role ensures the accuracy, integrity and transparency of investment-related financial information, compliance with accounting standards and the effectiveness of financial controls and processes. The Director will work collaboratively with cross-functional teams across the enterprise and will demonstrate expertise in technical accounting and accounting standards, deep experience in financial reporting and finance systems literacy and a track record of developing high-performing teams.
