Term: 12 months Job Description: Primary Purpose The Curriculum & Assessment Facilitator oversees activities related to the development of, and revisions to, undergraduate, graduate programs, and supports the preparation of statement of interest (internal) and program information for university and provincial level approvals of new program development for the Faculty of Engineering. Curriculum development, program revisions (e.g., right-sizing) and assessment (e.g., IQAP) have been identified as strategic priorities for the Faculty of Engineering. Organized management and oversight of the curriculum development and revision process, and program assessment are critical to enrolment growth, financial sustainability, and maintaining rigorous educational standards and national accreditation status. The Curriculum & Assessment Facilitator's scope of work includes day-to-day management of program development and revision as well as special projects critical to the long-term goals of enrolment growth and strategic enrolment management and outlined in the strategic plan. The Facilitator works toward efficient process management across all their responsibilities and integrates with main campus systems as it applies to program development and revision. The Curriculum & Assessment Facilitator reports to the Dean of Engineering and takes academic direction in terms of the curriculum development and revision from the Chairs and Directors through the Associate Dean of Teaching and Learning. The position receives functional guidance from the Associate Vice-President, Academic, to facilitate campus-wide collaborations. Key Accountabilities Curriculum Management and Instructional Support Curriculum - Provides senior level support to the Dean of Engineering and Departments/Schools - Has a thorough understanding of the mandate of Faculty of Engineering strategic initiatives - Ensures curriculum information is disseminated in an effective and timely manner amongst various stakeholders (program curriculum committees, Teaching and Learning Champions(?), staff, faculty, students, graduate studies, etc.) - Supports the development and revision of academic degree programs, and ensures that proposals are successfully moved through the approval process (Faculty, Senate and MCU) - Supports, as needed, the creation, update and approval of course proposals - Supports Departments/Schools and Associate Deans in developing and communicating curriculum mapping, including and maintains a curriculum mapping database for the Faculty of Engineering - Supports Departments/Schools in curriculum accreditation activities - Updates and monitors course descriptions and other information published in the Undergraduate Calendar and Course Catalog to ensure accuracy - Liaise with the Integrated Teaching Support Unit and other offices as necessary Assessment and Quality Assurance Management - Provides senior-level support to the Dean of Engineering Office in assessment and Quality Assurance issues based on a thorough understanding of assessment and quality assurance process - Supports, as needed, the preparation for and follow-up to meetings; organizes and schedules meetings; prepares agendas, minutes and supporting material. - Supports Chairs, Directors or Associate Deans, as needed, and oversees all aspects of annual quality assurance and assessment processes including surveys, data tracking and analytics - Provides strategic support regarding the implementation of assessment plans and continuous quality improvement cycles. - Reviews and suggests process improvements related to the Assessment Plan on an ongoing basis - Other duties as assigned Project Management - Provides project management expertise for various curriculum and assessment projects and other special projects across the Faculty of Engineering. - Creates and manages project timelines, milestones and deliverables using appropriate methodologies and techniques. - Develops mechanisms for tracking project progress and provides regular reports to stakeholders. - Special projects, as assigned Required Qualifications Education - University degree or equivalent post-secondary education
