PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITY: Receptionists with On Lok PACE at the Institute on Aging are staffed Monday through Saturday. The Receptionist is responsible for triaging all incoming telephone calls to the main line, program security, and a variety of clerical and administrative functions that support daily operations. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Answers the main telephone line for the On Lok PACE at IOA program. Directs calls to staff and provides information and assistance to callers. Maintains the lobby area, in a neat, uncluttered, and safe manner. Helps to manage and supervise the arrival and departure of clients and visitors. Receives mail and deliveries ensuring they are received timely and appropriately. Program security responsibilities include security camera monitoring, controls access to the PACE program by Coronet housing residents, operates delayed egress alarm, and monitors WanderGuard alerts for client with wander-risk behaviors. Uses a variety of digital systems including electronic health record, Excel, Microsoft Teams, Outlook, Microsoft Word, and more. Helps various departments maintain reports, records, forms, etc. Supports operational communications and assignments between Van Escorts, transportation team, Center Workers, the interdisciplinary team and PACE leadership. Actively participates in and encourages actions that promote good public relations with participants, their families and friends, visitors and the community. All other reasonably related jobs as assigned. PHYSICAL & LANGUAGE REQUIREMENTS: Ability to reach, bend and walk Ability to comprehend complex written material and verbal instructions Ability to communicate and speak clearly in English EDUCATION: High school graduate with at least 1-year experience in customer service, clerical, or reception function. BACKGROUND AND EXPERIENCE: One-year of experience with the elderly Language capability - Cantonese required Ability to type 50 wpm accurately Computer literate Good oral and written English language skills Flexibility and patience to work in busy, fast-paced team environment.
