About the Role - System Integration and Test Engineer Peak Energy is looking for a System Integration and Test Engineer to join our Energy Storage Systems (ESS) team and own integration testing and functional verification efforts for our energy storage systems, from batteries to power electronics. This role will work closely with firmware, design, and simulation teams to understand needs, develop procedures, set up and run and ultimately report on appropriate tests. Through testing, you will play a key role in informing the design direction of the product. This person is a self-starter who is hungry for knowledge and holds themselves and others to high standards. We are open to all levels. What You'll Do (Responsibilities): Own and conduct comprehensive testing of functional systems for BMS, inverters, and other systems across our energy storage product. Design, implement, and validate HIL and benchtop test systems for real-time simulation and validation of our BMS. Develop, execute, verify, and document test scripts, automation, and HIL systems. Create and maintain automated test scripts to enhance testing efficiency and accuracy. Develop test strategies, plans, and procedures across systems, from electrical to mechanical systems. Collaborate with engineering teams to ensure design integrity and improvements. Analyze complex test data, report findings, and drive system enhancements. Identify, diagnose, and resolve intricate technical issues during testing. Mentor junior engineers and contribute to team skill enhancement. Drive innovation in testing methodologies and practices. Interface tightly with design, simulation and manufacturing engineering partners to inform design decisions. Drive and participate in a culture of rapid prototyping and testing. What You'll Bring (Qualifications): Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a closely related field. Experience interfacing with microcontrollers and writing scripts for functional testing. Ability to architect, procure, assemble, and operate electromechanical automated test setups. Proficiency in Python or similar Passion for renewable energy, sustainability, and driving positive environmental impact through technology innovation. Eligibility to work in the U.S.
Requirements
- High voltage battery and power electronics experience.
- In-depth knowledge of battery management systems (BMS) architecture and implementation
- Utility-scale energy storage systems experience.
- Experience developing hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) test systems
- 3+ years of experience in testing high voltage systems, preferably in power electronics or batteries.

- The salary range for this role is $140,000-$215,000, with actual pay varying based on work location, experience, and skills. Our competitive benefits package includes:
